

The John J. Dillon award was presented to Karen Galbraith for her dedicated service to PASR at both the local chapter and state levels, in addition to her work in the community. Karen, on the left, is being presented the award by MCC/PASR President Jacob Wagner.

The Volunteer of the Year award was given to Forest Fisher for all the work he does for our community. He is shown above on the right with Helen Rager, our Community Service chair.

At the September meeting, Joel Diamond spoke to the members about the progress of the Mifflin County School District Stadium Project, specifically the "Buy a Brick" program.

Ashlie Crosson was our speaker at the September meeting. She is PA's Teacher of the Year. She stated that her award was for the whole of Mifflin County educators and staff. She explained the process of selecting the teacher of the year and shared her responsibilities during her 2 year term. Ashlie is now eligible to compete for the National Teacher of the Year.


Our United Way Day of Caring team working on their jobs for the day, cleaning out the flowerbeds around the United Way office and stuffing envelopes in the office.

At the November meeting, Dottie Peiffer was presented the Board Commendation for all the work she has done for PASR and the community. She is pictured with MCC/PASR President, Jacob Wagner.

Representative Kerry Benninghoff was the speaker at our November meeting.

The elite singing group from the Mifflin County High School, Cantare, entertained us at our December meeting.

At our January meeting, Val DeVecchis as Dorcas Buchanan told her life story.

Beth Myers entertained us with musical numbers through time on the keyboard at our March meeting.

Our officers from L to R are: Linda Will, treasurer; Beverly Berich, corresponding secretary; Harriet Yoder, the installer; Debbie Filson, recording secretary; Jacob Wagner II, president; and Dorothy Peiffer, past president.

The Lauretta Woodson Award was given to the faculty and staff of Lewistown Elementary School in May. Receiving the award from the school are: L to R Allison Treaster, Technology Teacher; Jennifer Esh, Principal; and Val DeVecchis, our Educational Foundation Chair.

Mifflin County High School Seniors, Giovanni Zannino and Ada Bodmer received our scholarships. Ada (L) will be attending Penn State University. Giovanni (R) will be studying at Holy Cross at Notre Dame. The recipients are pictured with Jennie McCardle, Education Support Chair. Each recipient will get a $1,200 scholarship.
